Fgura registered a fine win against high flying Rookies Sports Club. In a keenly contested match Fgura emerged 4-2 victorious displaying flashes of neat football and some excellent saves from young Bianco. Yesterdays lineup besides the usual backbone of the team of Warren Bianco in goal, veteran John Azzopardi, Silvano Pace, Paul Fenech and Kevin Gatt. Young left footed Mark Sammut, with lefty Ivan Cassar and Charlo Cutajar completing the squad. The latter two were making their debut in this competition.

Fgura took a 2-0 nil thanks to goals from Kevin Gatt and Paul Fenech with Rookies reducing the arrears with a thunderous shot. In the second half followed more goals from Paul Fenech and John Azzopardi. A late goal from the Rookies was not enough to help them enter back in the fray.
