Fgura succumbed to a third consecutive defeat at the hands of Qrendi who won 2-0 in the Monday night fixture. Fgura had much of play in the first period but could not pierce Qrendi’s defence as our inexperienced forward line was badly assisted. In the second half Qrendi shared the spoils and their attacking moves looked more menacing than ours. In fact after 10 minutes of restart, Qrendi took the lead when heading home from close range. They added a second late in the match after stealing the ball from our possession in midfield. Fgura’s reaction towards the end proved futile as the scoreline remained unaltered.
