Fgura missed a golden opportunity to jump to second place in the general standings. Fgura could only manage to line up 13 players as the already dwindling squad had to do without other defectors who missed the match for a number of ‘reasons’. To make things worse, Gauci had to hobble off the pitch at halftime. Fgura were poor and Xghajra capitalized on our off day taking a 1-0 nil in the first period adding two others in the second half.

Zebbug, who were waiting for the result of this match, have been declared as Section winners, when with still four matches to go and with a game in hand compared to second place Attard, have a ten-point advantage on the latter. The trio of Mdina, Fgura and now Xghajra all follow, just one point behind. The second and third placed teams qualify for the end of season promotion playoffs.
