This match was abandoned by the referee in the dying minutes with Fgura winning 2-1 because of incidents that took place after a reckless late tackle of ex Mario Farrugia on keeper Rainier Farrugia.

Claudio Pace making his first senior initial start up, created himself a good scoring opportunity, going round keeper Fardell but instead of trying his luck from an acute angle on his best right foot, chose to dribble back the keeper, only to see the defenders clear the danger.

Matthew Spiteri in perfect coordination opened the score on the half turn to score a beutiful game. Zejtun reacted to this goal by hitting the woodwork and had claims for a handling offence in the box turned down by the referee. At the other end, Fgura won possesion and Garzia was served in the arc of the penalty box, who with all the calmness of the world place the ball beyond the reach of Fardell. However Zejtun reduced the arrears minutes before the break when heading home from close distance. Pace could have scored a similar goal at the opposing end when did not connect properly an inviting Spiteri cross.

Despite his hustling and bustling, Claudio Pace was again denied a merited goal, when after stealing the ball, his feint, floored Fardell who still managed to block the young forward's attempt. Zejtun C nerves were starting to break and had two players sent off for double cautions. In the meantime substitute Bordieri had an attempt at goal just missing the target. On the 90th minute the incident that ended the match prematurely took place. After the foul and the scuffles that followed, the referee gave marching orders to our Clint Ellul and Mario Farrugia. Upon leaving the pitch more incidents took place.

Altghough one feels that Fgura are not to be denied of the three points, everything rests on the referee's official match report and the occular evidence of the match inspector on duty.
