Sta. Venera were worthy winners but they had to work hard to earn the three points, scoring a goal in each half.

Buttigieg in goal together witht the three 'men' infront of him, composed of Psaila, Mazzonello and Bongailas, were kept under continuous presure throughout the match, but still managed to defend without having to go to extremes.

Sta. Venera scored when a ball took an akward deflection, catching our young keeper wrongfooted who despite his desperate attempt did not manage to keep the ball from crossing over the fatal line.

The second goal was a long and angled shot that did not give ant chance to our keeper. Fgura came close to reduce the arrears when a Fenech freekick went over the bar.
