The Under 16s again were unfortunate not to maintain a slim win against Siggiewi when on a Saturday afternoon in the small Tarxien Ground the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Due to the pitch relatively small dimensions both sets of players failed to display a good football with the ball rarely played on the ground but booted from one end to the other were the two liberos, our Aaron Lagana and his counterpart excelled in their position. It was a game full of body contact as the spaces were players could maneuver was limited.

Fgura on the whole were a bit better than their opponents and the most clear of chances fell to forward Ascolese. In the first half, a good Cain run down the left flank ended with a good cross from the byline only for Ascolese to shoot high from a few metres away from the goal. In the second half Fgura took the lead with a splendid goal; Cauchi liberated Caruana on the left who let loose a shot on the volley from an acute angle with the ball dipping behind the keeper on the second post. In the dying minutes Siggiewi equalized when keeper Bianco was anticipated, probably fouled in the process, with the ball entering the net. Bianco had to be substituted by Bonnici in goal. Fgura almost regained the lead soon after when Ascolese managed to poke the ball ahead of the goalkeeper towards the net, incredibly the ball did not pass the goal line and with Ascolese chasing to tap in he was clearly fouled by his marker in the keeper area with the inept referee waving play on.
