Fgura took an early lead when Lia headed home from a corner, with the keeper being at fault for failing to keep out an easy ball. Fgura made it 2-0 when a Rutger Cutajar long distance shot and Caruana's dummy foiled the keeper with the ball ending its journey in the net.

Bonnici making his league debut in goal made some good saves, especially on the ground but was beaten from a direct freekick in his top right corner.

In the second half the seasiders equalized when they concluded a lenghty action with a low drive inside the box past the hands of the diving Bonnici. Fgura took the lead soon after when Vella acrobatically anticipated the indecisive keeper who failed to catch an inviting ball from a long distance Cauchi freekick.

But Xghajra managed to salvage a game when an individual run from their muscular forward rounded our keeper and scored the last goal of the match. The team is making it a habit not to perform against teams placed low in the table.
