A highly entertaining match albeit the precarious pitch condition, saw leaders Dingli winning by a single goal against a resilient and organized Fgura team.

The two sets of players gave an admirable performance despite the cold, the rain and the muddy and slippery surface and the points could have easily gone to any team. Goalkeepers were in good form and were always on the alert to clear and save any threats thrown at them. Fgura were slightly better in the first half creating some good chances and defending well. The most open of chances fell to Bordieri and Cassar who however failed to score.

In the second half the game, continued on the same pattern with Fgura coming very close to open the score when Cassar was thwarted twice by Dingli keeper in the same attack. A goal missed a goal conceded. On the hour mark in a goal mouth scramble resembling more to a flipper game, the ball was not cleared to safety and somehow ended in the net.

Fgura tried to salvage the match and inflicted some pressure on the Dingli backline who somehow absorbed the pressure and tried to counter when the right opportunity presented itself. On one of these rare forays Bianco saved splendidly into a corner a shot from Dingli’s spearhead.
