 Fgura took on the leaders St.Georges and lost 4-1. However the final scoreline does not repsect the actual play shown on the pitch. St.Georges however all-in-all deserved the three points. After 15 minutes they took the lead when a quick Saints freekick took our defense by surprise and their centre forward capitalized to the full though our keeper Bianco was unlucky when the ball slipped through his legs on the way in. A few minutes later, Caruana was fouled as he was defending the ball with the Saints forward advancing in the penalty area, who was then floored by our keeper. From the resulting penalty, St. Georges doubled the score. Fgura reacted admirably and created a number of chances but Bordieri first lobbed over the crossbar and soon after he was again thwarted by the keeper. In the second half Bianco saved a shot from the distance but was helpless when he was beaten from header from close range. Bianco was later saved by the upright and his fellow defenders when another ball was cleared off the line. St. Georges made it 4-0 when on the break, their agile centreforward went past the gk to deposit in an empty net. Fgura scored a late consolation goal when a good collective move ended with Pace liberating Bordieri to tap in home. Bordieri could have added a second but he goal keeper saved by deflecting to a corner another close range shot.
