Fgura lost 1-0 to Qormi in the 2nd round match of the Section C league. It was a match played in bright sunshine on an early Saturday afternoon at Mellieha.

Qormi made a forceful opening in the early exchanges with Bianco coming to the team's rescue with at least three good saves.

Fgura started to find their footing, despite still missing the services of injured Mark Sammut and Franklin Seisun, and game play was shared between the two outfits.

However, in what was the best spell of our team, Fgura conceded the only goal of the match, scored by Jurgen Gerada on the 20th minute, the son of ex-Fgura senior coach, Joe Gerada.

Fgura's reaction matured in three first half clear chances. A Cain freekick saw Butterworth anticipating the defense but his close range shot was blocked to a corner. Vella went close twice when his flick with the outside of his right foot was saved by the keeper and another shot on the volley with his left foot missed the target by a whisker.

At the other end Bianco again was called to block another insidious shot. In the second half the match remained a balanced affair but attempts at goal got a bit scarce as teams failed to match the good football showed in the first half. Bianco again was again called in action a couple of time when he had to parry close range attempts at his goal.
