New coach, Aaron Scerri had a first taste of competitve football when his selection made it's Under 19 debut on a rainy Sunday morning at Melita.

 

Our opponents B'Buga SP, relegated from Section C the previous year, were too strong for our inexperienced and experimental side as most of the boys have just ended their Youth Football period.

 

B'Buga SP dominated the first period and took a 3-0 lead with the two last goals coming very late in the first half.

 

Fgura were an improved side, after some tactical and positional changes and created a number of scoring chances. Against the run of play B'Buga added a fourth late in the game with substitute Anthony Baldacchino getting our consolation goal, connecting on the volley a short clearance to fire home. The Saints still had time to add a fifth capitalizing on a blunder by our goalie.
