The senior team's dismal star to the season continued with yet another defeat with the team failing to find the net once again.

 

This time around we were beaten 2-0 by Qrendi in the last game of the group stage of the Quick Keno KO Competition.

 

Again the team had some important elements missing as Rodney Galea was serving a suspension and Carl Calvagna, Ivan Cassar and Christian Bordieri all missing as they were not match fit.

 

The team saw the return of Clint Ellul and Jason Gauci but still the team is lacking punch up front, while the midfield is not absorbing the pressure well and is erratic in its build up while the defence is still subject to some mistakes which are costing us dearly.

 

Qrendi who were the better outfit throughout the match took the lead in a fortunate manner when a cross somehow fell on Vince Testaferrata's feet who inadvertedly laid the ball to his opponent on a silver plate who had the easiest of jobs depositing into an empty net as the goalkeeper was caught ill positioned. Clint Ellul had our best chance when served by Vella, shot straight in the hands of the extreme defender. Qrendi doubled the score early in the second half and despite ending the match with a man less who was sent off, managed to control our last efforts with ease, even squandering some easy chances on the break.
