This proved to be more difficult than we thought it would be. It is true that we dominated much of play and kept Xghajra for long stretches on the defence but they managed to create a notable amounts of scoring chances. In fact Bianco had to come to the rescue to save a one on one situation while a Pace lob hit the upright at the other end. Xghajra too hit the woodwork when a distant shot hit the crossbar. Fgura created a lot but found the opposing keeper in a state of grace. The second period followed the pattern of the first and Bianco once again came to the rescue saving with the aid of the upright a good shot. The keeper at the other end produced a fine save off a Darmanin freekick. However in the last quarter of the match, Fgura managed to find the way to goal with Claudio Pace getting a brace in goal mouth scrambles and Rene Zahra tapping in a Redeemer Briffa cross. Xghajra scored a consolation goal late in the match.
