A heavily depleted squad was no match to Sta. Venera, these running 3-0 victors. Sta. Venera were by far the better team scoring twice in the first half thanks to individual runs from the midfield adding another in the second period. Fgura had their moments too; with the match still goaless Mizzi advanced towards goal but concluded wide. In the second half his lob was cleared off the line and anothe Scanu attempt also went wide. Sta. Venera could have added another towards the end of the match but a shot hit the woodwork.
