With a little more endeavour, Fgura could have obtained the three points very easily but they could only scrap a point from this encounter. The referee in charge left much to be desired, being the author of wrong decisions against both teams.

Fgura were by far the better team throughout the match and opened the score with a beauty of a goal by Claudio Pace, with a well placed shot in the top corner of the goal.

Kirkop drew level in a controversial manner when the referee awarded Kirkop a freekick in the penalty area when he deemed that keeper Bianco picked up an intentional back pass, which was not the case. From the resulting freekick, a Kirkop player was clipped by Lagana and from the resulting penalty Kirkop drew level with Bianco nearly saving.

In the second half Fgura pressed forward for the winner, going close on a number of occassions. Kirkop too, to their credit hit the crossbar from a header from close range.
