Marsa registered a double on Fgura beating us with the odd goal in three.

Fgura welcomed the return of injured Calvagna and Vince Testaferrata but badly missed the contribution of influential skipper Ellul and Pace who could not make it to match fitness. New signing Sebastian Saliba made his debut in the club colours late in the game.

It was a windy, rainy and cold afternoon and the climatic conditions took its toll on the show put on display. Marsa with the wind behind their backs were the better team in the first half but goal mouth action was very scarse. Just before the opening goal they squandered a chance from an ideal position. The goal was the fruit of a careless mistake by our keeper who picked up a back pass. From the resulting indirect free kick in the box, the ball took a deflection on its way in.

In thesecond half Fgura tried to find the equaliser but Marsa managed to create some breaks and in one of these which resulted into a corner our defense failed to clear to safety with the Marsa slotting the ball into the net. Spiteri missed a golden opportunity to get one back when he shot feebly straight at the goal keeper from an ideal position. Pisani got injured when all three substitutions were effected. Despite playing with ten men the remaining final minutes Fgura got their consolation goal from a Drago frrekick.
