BOVIII:Fgura utd. vs Pembroke 0-2 Posted on Saturday 06th March 2010 On a windy Monday night, Pembroke managed to register a 2-0 win, thus distancing themselves from Fgura at the lower end of the table. Coach Testaferrata had to invent his midfield department as he had to do without suspended Galea, injured Pisani and Said. In the course of the match skipper Ellul had to be substituted for a ham string injury. Two youngsters, Briffa and Mizzi, made their debut in the Fgura colours late in the match.
Pembroke showed the better ideas in the first period despite playing against the wind and took the lead midway through the first period. Fgura displayed some neat football in the initial twenty minutes of the second half and had a Calvagna goal disallowed for an offside position. As the match progressed Pembroke regained confidence and doubled the score. Towards the end keeper Attard had to make two good interventions to limit the damage.
