Fgura United F.C Youth Nursery

On the 23rd of May at the Maranta Restaurant, the club held an end of Season Activity for the Under 10 boys. All boys present were given a small memento from their respective coaches Ivan Cassar and Marco Farrugia in appreciation of the boys’ attendance during the season. President Lawrence Bugeja and Club Secretary Stefan Vella were on hand to deliver short speeches, shedding light on the Club’s ambitious facilities project which hopefully will kick start later on this year.

The boys who distinguished themselves in their respective categories were individually awarded with more trophies. Edan Darmanin, by far the youngest boy in our nursery, was awarded the most dedicated Under 6 player while Mikhael Azzopardi landed the most promising award in this category.

In the Under 8 category, Matthias Vella (MD) and Owen Magro (MP) emerged victorious and Jeffrey Borg (Most Dedicated) and Shawn Theuma (Most Promising) took the Under 10 laurels.

Parents, present in encouraging number, showed their gratitude for the sterling job done by the two coaches by handing them gift vouchers. The activity seemed to work wonders with the kids as the day after in the final official YFA ‘Gatorade’ Festival the boys registered two wins against Xghajra T (2-0 with a Shawn Theuma brace) and 1-0 against M’Xlokk with Owen Magro netting a well crafted goal.
