Dear Friends,

It has been a while since we updated you with the news regarding the upgrading of our existing facilities. Since our last update we have been constantly working so that the requirements that we requested will be finalized for the eventual start of the project.

After the outline application was approved by MEPA, with certain conditions, we started discussing the possibility of extending our main pitch because we were being helped financially by our association, the Malta Football Association. This was a big boost and quite a challenge for a club like ours, to venture into such an ambitious project. We started with the required land which is owned by Government but leased to a third party. We had discussions with the farmer in question and he immediately agreed to transfer this land back to government for the eventual transfer to our club.
With regards to the land required to extend the pitch in width, this was altogether a different story, as this land was privately owned. We asked Kunsil Malti ghall-Isport the possibilities for this land to be expropriated and the money required for purchasing this small but important block of land which will be taken from our allocated funds from the KMS.
At the present moment we are awaiting the Ministry of Education and Sports to sign the necessary papers for the Lands Department to finally transfer the land to KMS which will then be forwarded to our club by means of a Legal Notice which has to be approved by Parliament.

With regards to MEPA we submitted our full application and yet again we were faced with an extraordinary fee which we eventually had to pay as we were loosing important time. Case Officer was appointed and hopefully if all goes according to plan the target date from MEPA will be February 2009.( as published in the MEPA website and correspondence) Our application No is 1996/08 for all of you who are interested.

We are also publishing our plans on our website, as we submitted to MEPA so that you will all be customized with the way we are proposing this project.
Just to brief you further we are now doing the following;

1. A minimum full size synthetic turf football pitch and Club House. Including new floodlights and fencing.
2. Proposed Gyminasium
3. A full size futsal synthetic turf pitch

All this will be done in phases as the funds required need to be generated to continue and finish this project.

I hope that you like the new image we are proposing and by doing this we would have achieved our dreams of having our own complex which will then bring to our club the anticipated progress which is needed.

We will keep our members and Fgura informed of the progress achieved and we hope that we will be in a position to complete this first phase by September 2009.

A lot of help is required for this venture and we hope to have the help requested from all concerned. All kind of help is needed especially from the administration point.
