The group stage of this year's edition of the Fgura United Pre-Season Tournament ended with a bang as Siggiewi beat Naxxar 4-3. This means that next Tuesday's final willl be contested by the two second division clubs Senglea A and Zurrieq who in today's first match ran out 4-1 winners over Fgura.

 

The scoreline materialised in the final minutes of the match. Zurrieq took the lead after just 12 minutes when Jason Saliba's good run was concluded by a shor which was saved by young Bianco in goal but the rebound was collected by Daniel Zammit who undisturbed opened the score. The same player hit the frame work just before the break. On the hour mark Clint Ellul was floored in the box, took the responsability of taking the penalty kick and converted. On the 66th minute Lawrence Vella resolved a goal mouth scramble to restore Zurrieq lead. Late in the game and following a number of substitutions on either side, two of Zurrieq entrants Stephen Azzopardi and Wildon Vella found time to put their names on the score sheet.
