Senglea vs Kirkop 2-2

In the second match Sengle and Kirkop shared the spoils in a two all draw. The Athletics took the lead after just 4 minutes when from a free-kick. Kirkop failed to clear and Howard Hughes netted from close range. Player coach Albert Muscat equalised for Kirkop minutes from half time through a direct free kick. Senglea A received a severe setback Donald Gatt was sent off for protests. Kirkop benefitting from a man advantage took the lead just after the break Michael Theuma converted a penalty. Kirkop were unlucky not to seal the issue minutes from the end when they hit the upright. They were denied from springing the first major surprise of the tournament when the Athletics drew level one minute from time through substitute Glenn Brincat.

Therefore all teams in Group A are all level with one point each. Tomorrow the teams forming Group B will enter the fray. Zurrieq will take on Naxxar at 6pm with Siggiewi vs Fgura completing the second day of games.
