The opening two matches from Group B ended goaless.

 

First Zurrieq who took place Naxxar L in the second Division took the field. However the Lions were the better outfit throughout the match although they did not put any house on fire. The best opportunity Naxxar had to bank all the three points when they were awarded a penalty after 36 minutes but Matthew Spiteri Gonzi's central shot was blocked by Julian Azzopardi's lower limbs. The second half followed the same pattern of the first with Zurrieq creating their share of chances too.
