Zurrieq landed this edition trophy after emerging as winners over Senglea Athletics. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Zurrieq getting the better of the Athletics winning the penalty shoot out 3-2.

 

The game was a tight affair with Zurrieq showing the best ideas in the first period and Senglea reacting in the second. Chris Farrugia hit the upright for Zurrieq on the 40th minute but 4 minutes later Zurrieq opened the score thanks to Steve Azzopardi. Senglea drew level on 54th minute through a Timmy Thomas penalty kick. The game remained in balance to the end.

 

In the penalty kick the two goalkeepers stole the limelight saving half of the kicks taken. Skipper Julian Farrugia of Zurrieq in goal saved three out of five while Carsten Dimech's two saves in Senglea Athletics goal were not enough to tilt the balance in their favour.
