The much awaited land required to start the first phases of the project has been approved by Lands Department and handed over to the Kunsill Malti ghall-isport for the recommendation to Parliament for the lease of 49 years. Legal notice 65/08 in the Government Gazette of the 15th February 2008.

The next step is to make a full application to MEPA, in this regards the Project team are now working on the final layouts of the plans and also the cost projections of each phase.

Preliminary meeting was also held with the MFA officials to assess our application for financial help required under the FIFA help to clubs.
