The Club has it's foundations back in 1971 and is the oldest sport organisation in the locality of Fgura. The first meeting to setup Fgura United Football Club were held on the 09.05.1971 in St Francis, St John Street, Fgura. The Annual General Meeting was set up for the 01.06.1971

And the first committee of Fgura United Football Club was elected as follows :-

Between the 1971/72 and 1973/74 seasons the club participated in the MFA Amateur League and the MFA Minor League only and the debut in the National League came in 1974/75 season when the club participated in the MFA 4th Division. Since then, Fgura United Football Club participated continuosly in all MFA competitions including the National, Reserves, Under 21 and Minors competitions.

One has to note that the Minors Team won their section 5 times between the 1973/74 and the 1986/87 seasons, the most notable being seasons 1985/86 winners of Minors Section E and 1986/87 winners of Minors Section D. This resulted in a very competitive Senior team in season 1987/88 that went on to become runner up in the MFA 3rd Division Section A and was promoted to the 2nd Division, the highest division our club participated in.

In 1995, the very successful Fgura United Youth Nursery was created. From then on, young local footballers developed their talents in this nursery and nowadays young footballers aged 6-16 years old are participating in all the Youth Fa competitions including the Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16.

Various honours has been won by the Fgura United Youth Nursery, the most notable being the 1995/96 Under 14 winners Section C and promotion to Section B, 1997/98 Under 14 & Under 16 runners up of Section C and promotion to Section B respectively, 2001/02 Under 12 winners Zurrieq Christmas Tournament and winning a promotion to Section B, 2002/03 Under 13 Winners Gudja United Tournament, Under 12 Winners Tarxien L Rainbows Challenge Cup and winning a promotion to Section A, 2003/04 Under 14 Runners Up Section C and promoted to Section B and 2005/06 with the Under 16 Winners of Section C and promoted to Section B
